About the Tambour Screen

The tambour screen, also referred to as a drum or trommel screen, is part of the Birim Recycling chip processing range. Its function in the line is separation and steady feeding: material is separated as it passes through the rotating drum, and the flow reaching the next machine stays consistent rather than arriving in surges.

That consistency matters because the machines downstream are sized against a steady feed. A briquetting press or a shredder that receives material unevenly cannot hold its stated output, so the screen is usually specified together with the rest of the line rather than on its own.
