Scrap Metal Shredder
Scrap Metal Shredder: Capacity, Power and Input Materials
The Birim Recycling scrap metal shredder reduces metal turnings, chips and other recyclable material to a manageable size, which is what makes the scrap denser to transport and more predictable to melt. It is supplied with three motor options and a reversible rotor, and it runs as a full automatic, continuous, electrically driven system.
Technical outline
| Specification | Value |
|---|---|
| Motor power options | 55 kW / 110 kW / 200 kW |
| Rotor speed | 1000 rpm |
| Turnings | up to 18 tons/hour |
| Castings (motor and gearboxes) | up to 7 tons/hour |
| Light aluminium profiles | up to 4 tons/hour |
| Small white goods and tin cans | up to 3.5 tons/hour |
Suitable input materials
- Metal turnings and chips from machining
- Incineration scrap
- Castings such as motors and gearboxes
- Light aluminium profiles and pressed rolls
- Small white goods and tin cans
Output capacity depends on the material, which is why the figures above are stated per input type rather than as a single number. Where turnings are the main input, the shredder is usually considered together with the rest of the chip processing line, including the briquetting press and the screen, so that the material reaching the furnace is both sized and dense.
The structure uses a heavy-duty welded body and replaceable wear plates, and cylinders and hydraulic systems are designed and manufactured in house. For a capacity assessment, contact Birim Recycling with the material type and the tonnage to be processed.
